What is an EMP201?
The monthly return every South African employer files with SARS for the employees’ tax (PAYE), UIF and SDL deducted from staff salaries. A six-monthly EMP501 reconciliation follows, but the monthly EMP201 is the recurring filing.

As at October 2026, Nil bulk submissions are processed separately, not in real time. Does Konsise support the Employment Tax Incentive (ETI)?
Yes. The ETI calculation and indicator are included. SARS pre-populated values are filled in and are editable where enabled so employers with ETIs can file their EMP201 through Konsise.
Can I pay the EMP201 from Konsise?
Not yet. SARS hasn’t opened EMP201 payment to any software providers, regardless of what software vendor websites state. Your return is filed and confirmed in Konsise and is ready to pay immediately in eFiling. We’ll add payment initiation when SARS makes it available.
